DTC P1226 Throttle Position (TP) Sensor

Procedure for confirmation of DTC

Switch off ignition and wait for 10 seconds.

At idle the battery voltage should be more than 10V.

With Consult II                                 without Consult II

Switch on ignition.                             Switch on ignition.

Choose Data Monitor mode.               Switch off ignition, wait for 10 seconds and switch on again.
*Switch off ignition, wait for 10secs.    Repeat above test 32 times.

*Switch on ignition.                            With ECM conduct Diag Test Mode II, Self Diag Results

Repeat above 2 tests* 32 times.          DTC > Diagnostic Procedure.

Procedure for Diagnosis –

Switch off ignition.

Take the intake air duct, out

See if there is any foreign material stuck between the throttle valve and housing.

If it is seen that there is any thing foreign, stuck there then

It is to be cleaned and also the inside of the electric throttle control actuator.

Otherwise

The Electric Throttle Control Actuator is to be replaced
