The cranking diesel pressure needs to be above 200 bar for the ECU to initialise the injectors. Due to the low speed at the high pressure pump the pressure is not attained due to high leak back at one or more of the injectors. To be sure of this this the best way to be fairly certain is try spraying some easy start into the induction pipes and if the vehicle starts then you are pretty certain that your fault is low fuel pressure when cranking.

You then have to get the leak back checked!! At least you have a start

Richard P

RE: pugeot 306 2.0 hdi wont start

Is the in tank pump working, check for power to the fuse No34 or 35, can't remember which, but it one or the other.
