my thinking was that sombody said they are a common failure and they control the injectors so thought this mite fix it but it didnt

Paul,
You need to see live data, why replace a camshaft sensor? What is your thinking behind that?
You need a good diagnostic engineer with a good diagnostic tool.

hi when i spray easy start into the induction pipes it will start but not run any ideas?

i have also now replaced the cam sensor but this did not fix it either

would thid be down to a fuel pressure problem or an imoberliser fault

Hi,

Sounds like you have an injector fault which is quite common on the Bosch system. The cranking diesel pressure needs to be above 200 bar for the ECU to initialise the injectors. Due to the low speed at the high pressure pump the pressure is not attained due to high leak back at one or more of the injectors. To be sure of this this the best way to be fairly certain is try spraying some easy start into the induction pipes and if the vehicle starts then you are pretty certain that your fault is low fuel pressure when cranking.

You then have to get the leak back checked!! At least you have a start

Is the in tank pump working, check for power to the fuse No34 or 35, can't remember which, but it one or the other. It's in the under bonnet fuse box.

If no power, no low fuel pressure and hence no high pressure at the rail.

The double relay is down behind the ECM, which in turn is behind the battery.

DO YOU HAVE POWER TO THE INJECTORS GET HOLD OF SOME NOID LIGHTS ABOUT A TENNER FROM A GOOD PARTS SUPPLIER TEST ALL OF THE INJECTORHARNESS PLUGS FOR POWER IF NO POWER THE USUAL SUSPECT IS THE CAM SENSOR THIS FIRES THE INJECTORS IN A ROUNDABOUT WAY, AGAIN A COMMON FAULT ON THE PUGS

hi all ive still got the non starting pug, now ive drained the fuel out of it changed the filter and put in fresh diesel just in case it was contaminated but still it wont start

please help anybody

hi,,i always thought on these that if the sensor is at fault,unplug and it should still run on its default setting?

When rechecking; first check, as before, with the plug connected - and then recheck the voltage on the centre terminal of the plug with the plug disconnected.

There may be a short to 12 volts occuring. As that is an important sensor, then it could well stop it starting.

hi ok i will double check but im sure thats what i got, what would be the reason if that was the correct reading? and would this stop it from starting because the fuel pressure is wrong?

1 and 3 are OK - the middle pin is wrong - very wrong.

It should be 0.5 volts at key-on and 0.9-ish cranked.

Recheck.

hi ive checked the feeds to the pressure sensor and this is what i got

pin 1 = 0 volts

pin2 = 9.04 volts

pin 3 = 4.99 volts

when cranking the voltage of the middle pin did not change

have checked all fuses in the car and under the dash, there is fuel getting from the tank to the main pump on the engine

P1517 is an immobilizer code.

P0230 is a fuel-pressure related code.

Measure the voltage on all 3 pins of the fuel-pressure sensor at key-on and the middle one when cranking.

Hi Paul,
Most of those codes don't comprehend, the only one that does is P0230-primary fuel circuit.
You could do with another code read with a good diagnostic machine, peugeot planet would be the most preferred.
Looks like you'll also need to look at live data as well.

hi mate yep im trying to get a fault reader i did get the rac round to see if they could read the ecu and get a fault code i did get some i will list but he could not erase the memory so dont think his computer was the best, here are the codes

The 1st thing you need is a code read with a good scanner and diagnostic engineer
If your still struggling, as much detail as possible please, such as year, and codes etc.

hi all my pugeot 306 hdi 2.0 wont start, it was fine one day then left over nite and wont start or even try to. it just turns over and over, ive tried my spare key it looks like the imoberliser is turning off ok, the glow plugs are ok its got diesel and the pump in the tank is working ok, ive fitted a new crank sensor didnt change please anybody got any ideas???????
