hello all, could anyone give me any guidance to curing this fault.

 i have a focus 1600 d year 2005 engine code hhda (90hp),

i have two fault codes logged p0380 heater plug control circuit permanent, and u0073 control bus communication off . the heater plug system works ok if i freeze the coolant temp sensor,  though all appears to be all ok i have p0380 permanent.

the following have been checked,  h/plugs, harness between plugs and enginebay fusebox, relay in fusebox, supplies and earths to relay.

the car also lacks power on the road and appears to be governed to approx 3 k, i also have a red lamp illuminated in the rev counter dial which is engine systems system warning lamp, not sure if this fault is being created due to the other problems or is a separate fault completely.

many thanks 01

i cannot believe a vehicle would go into limp mode for a heater circuit fault.

tsb 17 covers what i assume to be a slightly earlier version of the vehicle, it refers to a remote mounted relay, my vehicle has the heater relay (a 4 pin 70 amp) located in the engine bay fuse box. i will now go deeper into why its logging a fault on a system which works satisfactory.

fixed. found a problem with the wiring after it leaves fuse 28 going to ecu (fuse 28 goes live when the plugs are on)
