Roof not opening - Front Latch Motor - Open Circuit.

I have checked with a DVM at the Roof ECU and indeed it is open circuit. I have managed to get to the wiring in the canvas roof as far as where the drivers head would be - I have continuity up to that point. Hence the fault lies between that point and  the front latch motor.

I have used an Allen Key to release the Front Latches, that enables me to move the roof back about an inch.

Question is: How do I remove the plastic trim that runs across the width of the roof - the piece that has the hole in it to put the Allen Key through to operate the roof manually.  That I believe will give me access to the Front latch motor.

I have found two screws at each end and removed them, still cannot get it to budge.

thanks

You will need to get the roof  front edge near upright to get the bow cover off, undo all screws and pull down and out.

How would one go about getting in to that upright position. I can manually release the front catch. Is there a way to release the rear part of the roof ?

The handbook shows how to close the roof manually but not how to open it.

thanks

Georgio.

If it,s fully auto-matic there should be access to a manual winder n/s boot area.
