Evening all I have the above vehicle that is giving cam sensor codes so need to change it but it looks like the timming belt has to come off along with one of the idler pulleys to get the sensor out or is there another way?

Says to me cam timing is out, I hardly ever see the G40 sensor fail.

We have done a few cam sensors on these, last one was just 2 weeks ago.

May be your just lucky on that one.

timing belt had to come off to get the connector through the back cover.

fault codes were for implausible signal and short to positive and the timing was correct before the belt was removed.

As a side note to this, watch the torque on the tensioner stud, they are little buggers for shearing off. If the nut feels odd as you tighten it, please pull it down again and fit a new stud.
