Hi.

Citroen C3 1.4 Hdi 16 valve 2002. At startup the car went into limp mode and the Engine management light came on.

Reading the codes with Lexia 345 I got the following 3 permanent faults :-

P0102 Flowmeter signal short to earth or open circuit.

P0406 EGR electrovalve signal Short circuit to earth.

P0246 Turbo pressure solenoid valve Short circuit to + or oen circuit.

To cut a long story short, I changed the 2 electrovalves and the Mass air flow sensor which made little difference !

I still have the same 3 faults.

My thinking now is that there are maybe 3 possibilities.

1) the sensors are all powered from the same source, a relay maybe ?

2) there is a fault with the wiring and I have got a short somewhere, although I have inspected the loom for obvious faults and cant see any.

3) the ECU is faulty.

I can't find a wiring diagram that shows the sensor / actuator side of the ECU so I'm working a bit blind.

I'm no expert and could easily have missed the obvious but I'm leaning towards the ECU which is the reason for posting here before I send it to BBA Reman for testing / repair.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Did you even check for power at any of the components before they were replaced. The key to this fault is in the code description(circuit).

Needs a scope!!!

Hi Forum Tea Boy,

Thank for getting back to me,

Yes there was power on pin 4 of the MAF but only about 3 volts.. I now know it should have been 12v but without a wiring diagram.....

I've found a wiring diagram now on Web which pointed me to Fuse 15 (30 amp) in the fuse box next to the battery.

So Mels car is now working again thank you.

Um, ClockWise I think you are confusing Mels Dad with Matt1983.

Mels Dad didn't go about his diagnosis in a very professional way but was polite and grateful for help offered.

Matt1983 seems to have some sort of mental issues.

See the difference? I would guess you scrolled quickly through the thread, easily done but in this case may have given offence to someone who didn't deserve it, as opposed to someone who did.
