And I can't even remember when the maximum permitted price went up! Yet you still get idiots discounting. I've seen them advertised at £25.00. At that price you have to be either doing dodgy ones or have a fondness for throwing money away.

I think that the MOT price should go up to cover the centres increasing costs and it should NOT be allowed to discount it, it should be fixed if the ministry is really genuine about maintaining standards. I am not an MOT tester and there is no way I would do it, all that work and investment for so little!

Their addicts only do harm to their own lives: you poison the lungs of the innocent, your din dithers the peaceful, and on choked roads hundreds must daily die by chance-medley. Nimble technicians, surely you should hang your heads in shame. Your wit works mighty wonders, has landed men on the Moon, replaced brains by computers, and can smithy a "smart" bomb. It is a crying scandal that you cannot take the time or be bothered to build us, what sanity knows we need, an odorless and noiseless staid little electric brougham.

I think you mean "should NOT be allowed to discount it"! But whilst it isn't a hugely profitable part of my business, and not much fun either, I see it as part of offering as full a service as I can. Also I bought my garage as an existing station and although I've upgraded/replaced all the equipment in the 20 years since at least I didn't have to buy it all in one go. Which is a help!

Mot's well they are additional income for the business along with the workshop tec's efficiency workload.in theory there is less standown time as there is always something to get on with.
now if the workshop is fully efficent then it can be a hinderence.
