Hi all, Hope someone can help me out :-) I have a Fiesta 1.1 MK3 ’96 on N plate. 53K miles
My problems is when dipping the clutch to change gears the engine is revving, also sometimes it feels like the car is accelerating with my foot off the gas.
When I pull up at a junction engine has hi revs, and will eventually fall down to tickover level.
Any help and advice would be greatfully received.

 9 times out of ten it would be the stepper motor, but have it scanned to make sure ,these parts are really expensive.

Thanks for your reply mechy1barry.
I have been looking at some old posts and tried something a guy had suggested, ie. removing the 3amp fuse dissconecting the ECU and resetting it.
I have done 170 miles today and had no problems at all with engine revving !! :-)
Problem is now, had trouble starting this morning, very low revs, and same on tickover after warming up LOL :-( cant seem to win.

Hi all,
Just an update.
I got a throttle position sensor and a throttle plate stepper motor off a scrap car, these 2 parts had just recently been fitted as new !! (Lucky me).
Any how all been well it looks like everthing is working ok, only time will tell.
