Hi All
I am looking into this vehicle that has been at Ford for a re occurring cam sync code.
Vehicle has no history as garage bought it from auction,
Ford have checked the timing, all ok. But a new timing gear was fitted anyway, rechecked by Ford and the garage all spot on, code still flags after 2 minutes on idle. It then starts to idle really badly.
Both cmp and the ckp scope as working correctly, and when I scope all three together from start up till it starts to idle rough, I see no change in the capture.
So does anyone have a known good capture for one of these engines? Or thoughts on what might be going on.

Thanks
Sparki

I've got one but its m1da code so not sure if it will be the same but I would assume so?I had a cam crank error intermittently after changing the head, but re timing it sorted it. It must have only been marginally out.

What is the exact code being stored?

Have you tried relearning the misfire correction profile?

Thanks all, timing has been checked by Ford and the garage twice so can only assume it’s correct, likewise the tensioner.
Will have a look at the misfire adaptation, haven’t had ids long so didn’t notice it, where about does that correction live in the software please.
Will try and get time to scope another one of these things and see if there is a difference.
Thanks
Sparki

Scoped ckp at module and cmps at the sensors on top of engine.
Don’t have pico so can’t access their library I didn’t think?

Misfire profile learn is under PCM service Functions.

Are yo 100% sure over this timing ??
Dealers do get it wrong !
The CKP runs off the back of the bottom pulley. That is not keyed on !
Couple with the just stupidly tight requirement of the bottom pulley bolt (its needs a torque multiplier), the pulleys can slip when being done up.
