Renault Master II, central locking not working.

You turn the key in every of the three door and you lock or unlock THAT door.
You press the button inside the cabin and the van CORRECTLY lock or unlock ALL the three door.

If you disconnect the driver's door lock unit and check the voltage, you turn the key
in the passenger's door and in the driver's connector there is voltage for lock and in the other
wire there is voltage to unlock.

If you connect the driver's door lock unit and check the voltage, you turn the key
in the passenger's door and in the driver's connector there is NO voltage for lock or unlock.

Under the dash, if you ground the orange wire of the locking unit, you unlock ALL the doors.
if you ground the ? wire of the locking unit, you lock ALL the doors.

So if you have an idea of what is not working please help.
Or share a piece of schematic if you have.

Thank you.

Not sure what you are getting at & you don't mention what year this van is.

Back to the problem

Are you saying that the Central Locking is not working from the buttons on your Remote key ?

You turn the key in every of the three door and you lock or unlock THAT door.

Could that be because it is designed that way ?

I have a 2010 Primastar here with me now (should be similar set up but I accept it may not be) This van has only one key slot in the drivers door handle, turning the key in there only unlocks / locks the drivers door.

Pressing the remote unlock button only unlocks / locks the Drivers door.

To open the other doors I have to either press the button a second time and hold it pressed for 2-3 seconds or use the unlock button in the dash.

You can get all the schemetics here. http://www.infotech.renault.com/fo/accueil.action I find Renault factory diagrams difficult to read (hate them) but that's just me.

This van is of the army, year approx. 1997-2005.

With remote key it doesn't function as you said.
I found a CR2016 battery inside and even with a new one it doesn't work.

Could that be because it is designed that way ?

Makes sense.
Thank you
This van has 5 door, four of them have the key slot and if you turn it you lock or unlock that door.

Being Ex Army makes it secretive & complicated for security reasons. Maybe the system is not installed or activated again for security reasons. The army do not prefer radio waves for data exchange. I have no Army knowledge or history so just using my imagination here. I have seen some "differences" on ex police vehicles. Some similarity there possibly.

Did you test the voltage of the old and new battery. I have seen lots of those batteries "dead" out of the packet - be aware !

Has it ever worked while you have had the vehicle.

You need to take several little steps:
  1. Use a little hand held tester to confirm that your key is transmitting a signal.
  2. Use Live Data from a scantool to confirm the transmitted signal is being received. Here the Antenna(s), wiring etc are in play.
  3. With a scantool look at the vehicle configuration to confirm that the function is activated.
Looking back you may want to try number 3 first but hopefully you get the gist of what could be what and a way forward.

Had to solder the remote key, now the van lock and unlock with remote.

This also indicate that every single door lock or unlock itself and not the other, as you said.
Thank you.
