Just after abit of advice with this one, Iv'e got a pug 107 with the horn that just stays on.

My brother has just bought the car of ebay as a sold as seen type of thing, fuse for the horn was not i the fusebox under the bonnet, put said 10amp fuse in and the horn starts going off, removed the drivers airbag unit facia/panel and the horn stops, so is constantly being live.

Does anyone know where abouts the horn relay is on these, i did use google to find where the fuse was and can't find anything to do with the relay?

Kind Regards

Luke

If you are disconnecting the air bag spiral/clockwork and the horn is stopping you need to look there not at the relay, the horn works by earthing the relay.

Hi Kev, I’ve removed the air bag to stop the horn working as i thought it’s a live feed the horn gets fed as there is only one wire down to the horn plug and is earth’d through the vehicle, replaced the spiral unit behind the drivers airbag to no success, used item from a breaker, doesn’t seem to be broken etc as you roate the spiral and it stops and it does have pointers to indicate central on it.

I was thinking relay as if it had broken down inside and is constantly being fed a live feed as it doesn’t stop when pressing horn push etc

Kind Regards

Luke

Agree with Rob . The relay is pulled by earthing by pressing the horn button. yours is obviously earthing before the button is pressed

"used item from a breaker" hmm probably broken as well. This is very basic sh1t to test.

Your theory there is sketchy to say the least. Im

Your horn is not faulty if it works.

The wiring from relay could be shorted to plus or minus
The relay contacts could be fused together
You could have a fault in the horn button area.
The wire from horn button button to relay could be shorted to earth.

Find the Horn Relay and pull it out. You should have 4 populated pins in the relay holder. Look at the relay and tell us if the pins are marked 30, 85, 86, 87.

Measure the voltage at all 4 pins and tell us what you have at each one. If you don't have a Voltmeter go grab one from Screwfix or .......

Keep up the relay is not stuck "Find the Horn Relay and pull it out"

"removed the drivers airbag unit facia/panel and the horn stops,"

The problem is rotary connection or upwards.
