hi all does any body know how to adjust the kick down cable on a borg Warner 65 automatic triumph stag mk 2 1976

the Customer brought the car blind when we got it off the trailer it had 1st and reverse gear only we have washed out the sump and the filter and refilled with fresh oïl

now we have 3 forward gears and reverse but it will only change if i take my foot of the throttle we have moved the kick down cable to several positions and we get different results every time

if i totally disconnect the kick down cable i get 3 gears with no problem i think some body has moved the kick down cable to try and get over the no gear as the lock nut was loose on the cable

thanks sparker

If you have all the gears with the cable dis-connected the cable is either adjusted too short or even the wrong cable ie too short.
