Idle flare's as old as the hills on these. Measure the voltage on the centre pin of the Throttle Position sensor at idle.

If it's more than 0.7 volts, remove TPS, drill-out the metal sleeves on the mounting bolt-holes [drill them fast - they'll melt their way out] and refit using the slack to get the lowest reading you can.

Rarely fails.

Forum Technician Group: Forum Members Last Active: 5/16/2013 7:25:47 AM Posts: 298, Visits: 410 305	Hi there, take out the 3amp KAM(keep alive memory)fuse from the fuse box for 30 secs and refit then start up and drive, you will find it will be ok, this is a common fault and you never get a fault code for it, Jim.

Canceling the memory of the KAM, I would have thought, it would not work if the TPS still gives the high voltage!
