hi

got a ford escort xr3i cabriolet 1600 cvh efi on a g plate it came in with a severe water leak and rough idling fixed the water leak did head gasket check everything ok. Took vehicle out for test drive and when you accelerate the vehicle pulls fine but as soon as you dip the clutch it just dies iam thinking idle speed control valve so i cleaned this out with carb cleaner still no change is there anything else it could be or anyway i can test the iscv or should i just order the iscv not cheap

thanks for reading Andy

sorry you have not had a reply but it sounds like the water has got in ,have you tried the power up the idle valve(actuate it).

have you also tried getting it hot then turn off the engine.

turn on the ignition for a few secs then off  for 10 secs then on  before starting it up again

not a ford man but someone will come a long

Regards

Cyril
