| | whilst the car was being motd the top of the rad blew up putting 3 dents in the bonnet anyone else had this apparently its a common fault according to the radiator supplier |

| Hi,Very common, look around at the mercs parked at the shopping centre next time you are out & bored (thats assuming you are like me & do not care for shopping), you will be amazed how many merc bonnets are damaged in this way.

| | after renewing the rad always check the viscous fan is operating, its sometimes its failure that causes rad to explode. |

| | yup had two do it to me in the last two months, one with bonnet closed one with it open-my god it could do serious damage to someone -large shards of top header tank flying in several directions-not to mention the boiling water tha follows it,now refusing to mot mercs that haven't had rad cap changed for health reasons-liable to cause injuryto tester or equiptment is the refusal to test reason i use,looked into it some and apparently merecedes know of this problem |
