whilst the car was being motd the top of the rad blew up putting 3 dents in the bonnet anyone else had this apparently its a common fault according to the radiator supplier

Hi,Very common, look around at the mercs parked at the shopping centre next time you are out & bored (thats assuming you are like me & do not care for shopping), you will be amazed how many merc bonnets are damaged in this way.  

Its really simple if you know the answer

after renewing the rad always check the viscous fan is operating, its sometimes its failure that causes rad to explode.
