Having a problem with a C3 HDI 1.4 with a 8hy engine i think (could be wrong on the engine code as its been a long hot day)

Anyway no engine light and no codes but car has no power .......................checked vacuum to turbo and virtually non existent so actuator not opening the turbo up

Started at vac pump and loads of vacuum checked pipe that goes to the vacuum collector box loads of vacuum out of the collector box there is some vac but virtually nothing so thinking the box is faulty replaced it and still the same so went back to vac box supply pipe and no vac back upto pipe from servo and no vac at the "t" piece well i say t piece there are 2 tits off one is blanked so swapped the blank and the supply and vac again but barely anything out ot vac collector box still so by passed collector box to try and were off powers back

Road tested and just as we came back lost power again so rechecked vac and nothing at the joint to the servo pipe

anyone else had similar probs or is there a valve of some description in the servo pipe which is blocking and cutting the vac down to the collector box?

Well its fixed .................turns out there is a one way valve in the pipe from the vac pump to the servo which was playing up

Replaced the pipe and car driving fine

THanks for all the help

Speedy (03/07/2009)
checked vacuum to turbo and virtually non existent so actuator not opening the turbo up

I would have expected on these that it it is a 'basic' turbo, with a wastgate, from my ( limited ) experience with these engines in Fiesta. I'm surprised if it's a variable vane turbo.

I stand, to be corrected.
