rac said fuel getting to injectors cos he cracked one loose switched ign on and has lots of fuel which is happening . put it on our reflex scanner and no codes present then tried snap on modis and still no codes . engine rpm is showing as roughly 220rpm when cranking . key code light goes out on dash also . tried to fire it earlier and it nearly tried but that was about it .

any ideas or burn it as these things i know are hassle !

undoing pipes on these is dangerous & will not help find the problem.

If everything is coming your way, you are in the wrong lane

Engine management light doesn't show, computer doesn't show an error, it cranks OK, fuel gets to the injectors but the injectors don't trigger.

Suspicion is something in the electronics (ecu or a sensor) but without replacing everything in in turn until we find the answer we don't know how to solve it.

Might a Fiat dealer have further diagnostic equipment or will they be stumped as well as the engine management light doesn't show?

If you work out the solution I'd love to know and I'll let you know if we work it out first!

obviously fuel pressure prob , getting fuel to filter and fuel at injectors . is the intank pump a low pressure unit which just delivers fuel up there and then main pump is high pressure ?

we always get hassle with these multiplas , esp these black ones !

Have you got sufficient primary pressure?  Should be around 2.5 bar min.

Has this been run on anything other than pump DERV?

Remove the fuel pressure regulator in the HP pump and check it's tip for...   anything.

You are either not getting the initial pressure [in tank fuel pump] or loosing it on the rail. Check the relief valve or more likely an injector allowing too much fuel to return to the tank, this would explain the sometimes starting. Do a leak off check on the injectors if you find one allowing more fuel return than the others then that is your problem.

If these are ok and the initial pressure is as reqd then it points to the high pressure pump, but as asked is it just diesel been used and if swarf is found any where in the system then it all has to be replaced - or scrapped.

yes it got scrapped and crushed into a little cube   best thing to do with a multipla  , sorry
