I have got to say that anyone who reckons that WD40 or any other fluid is the remedy for a seriously stuck injector, have not had much experience of injector removal.

Often the problem lies deep within the injector installation, where fluid would take weeks to penetrate (if at all). Usually there is the effect of an electro chemical reaction between the Aluminium of the cylinder head & the Steel of the injector which creates a build up of a deposit that packs in tight, to create a seriously tight grip.

Slide hammers are a waste of time in such cases & a proper pulling tool will be needed. Even then you might find that the effort required to get it moving might cause the injector to break. I have only had to remove one cylinder head on a 1.9 Vivaro, after the injector separated, leaving only a 40mm sleeve tucked deep inside the injector orifice.

I would recommend anyone who is struggling with injector removal, to give Tony a call. He has invested heavily in this area & knows his craft. He has a massive tool too! w00t

Nearly all the vehicles i attend are dead (non Runners) so preheating the engine just isn't possible Crying

A Quality puller is the only option with the nessesary expierience to opperate being a must have.

some of these hdi engines need the full 20 tonnes to effect removal.

i think i have got it down to a fine art now as after 3000 injectors i'm running a 99%+ success rate BigGrin

not bad eh BigGrin

Sorry Mate don't get on here that often so missed your post (you should have emailed me)

in answer to it YES i have developed a very effective method for dealing with the Vauuxhall Vivaro / Nissan Primastar / Renault Traffic 2.0 ltr DCI

Engines where the threads have been damaged / torn off during removal attempts

i've also managed to remove the nozzle nuts left in the head as Dave described on loads of engines

in fact i am now dealing with most if not all seized injectors effectively on most makes of motor.

I have watched tonys video and the tool is impressive, it beats my method which involves coca-cola, a chain and a ramp to lift the vehicle via the chain round the injectors and suspend the vehicle sometimes overnight, if I get a stuck one I will drop an email to you.

Would rather be playing pool.

Does anyone know of an injector removal service in Kent/East Sussex? I haven't had any not come out yet but would be handy to know someone with a proper puller who knows how to use it.
