| | Hi all does anyone recognize these codes P1040 Supply voltage A for injectors Cicuit malfunction Short to plus intermitant P2146 Supply voltage for fuel injector group A Open Circuit open or short to ground towed car in saturday going to start looking at it in the morning but cant find these codes, no information or wiring diagrams on AD regards PhillW |

| | Phil This engine uses Piezo Crystal type fuel injectors. The fault code P2146 can indicate a problem with one of the injectors going short circuit to earth internally. If you remove the engine cam cover and check the resistance of all the injectors between the two electrical pins, then check each pin for resistance to earth, you may find one of them has a problem. | | pull plug off 1 injector at a time till it starts on 3 cylinders and you will find faulty injector and replace with new one |

| | Just a little more info to add....had a 2006 (07) passat BKP in this week same fault. Tested injectors all open curcuit except for No 2 (had 200ohms on feed terminal pin 2) reconnected wires to 1,3 & 4 engine started on 3 cyl's then cut out! retested injector now No3 187 ohms on pin 1 (ecu signal earth) replace both injectors (£916 + vat) road tested vehicle ran great for 5 miles the cut out again!! same fault codes retested injectors NOW cyl No1 178 ohms on pin 1 (ecu signal earth) HELP!!!!!!.....Andymac |

| | Hi Andymac That sounds familiar, we had one a few months ago, replaced 1 injector, all good. Car came back a week later on towtruck, needed another, which was replaced, but we didnt even make it to road test before the third one went down. Luckily for customer the fourth one hasnt gone yet !!!! Still waiting though.
