Hi

May be the dumbest  question but how many times are you pressing the button.?

It could be programmed for once opens drivers door twice opens every thing else.

Have seen it before when customer has just bought the car !!!!!

Cool

I would rather be sailing

Ive had many golfs in my time and the mk4 and mk5 are programmed to only open drivers door with one press on the key fob and with two quick presses unlock all doors , also after 30 plus seconds of unlocking if you havent opened any doors it will relock itself and re arm the alarm system.

Hil guys , Think youre right with the drivers door only open on first press. With the Golfs if you unlock and lay the keys down in the car they will relock with the key in it . Get at least one a week keys locked in car . Always at a supermarket !!

Always check the basics first !Rolleyes

The central convenience system is programmed for single door opening, it can be recoded for single press all door opening using a diagnostic computer system BUT this is an anti hijack feature, disable it at your peril! My wife’s new Polo is set to this and I have left it this way as I value her safety!

The definition of an expert. An ex is a has been and a spurt is a drip under pressure

That's odd,if you open the door ie: to put the keys in it should not re-lock,unless the drivers door switch is faulty of course. I've only seen this happen on very few occasions, more than one a week must be a nice earner tho.

Hello,

i have exactly the same problem only with a 5dr. having owned the car since 2007 i have never experienced a fault like this before. it happend yesterday during heavy snow, so i didnt pay it much attention. when tested this morning, there is no response to a second push of the key unlock button. the drivers door opens with one push, then nothing else.

the other doors can be open from the internal drivers door button, but now the boot wont open atall. infact it wont even let me use the key.

any help with this would be greatly apreciated!

cheers

dan
