Hi can anyone help please? Boyf's vectra broke down last night, just cut out when stationery at traffic lights and wont start.  Recovery guy gave a fault code of P1109 and notes he gave were: "Suspect fuel lift pump u/s....fault code P1109 found via AADIS (secondary port throttle system)....No fuel pressure on live reapings...No fuel pushing through....electrics to pump ok."     He suggested getting a new fuel pump but these are a tad pricey!!  Is a new fuel pump necessary?  Is there be any other solutions?? Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated Wink    Thanks!

p1109 is swirl flap motor malfunction but it should not stop it from starting or cause a cut out, however a stuck egr will as will plenty of other things ,you will need to get it to a garage and get a proper code read then post the results if the garage are unable to fix it and we/i will advise further, regards TB

Hi thanks for getting back to me.  Took the car to a local garage and it turned out to be the fuel pump in the tank, all fixed for £300 and running a like a dream!
