We have now had two issues involving unipart fuel filters on modern cars. A merc E320 '51 plate it restricts fuel flow (looses 20psi of pressure causing the need to crank it for ages) and does not hold pressure after switch off. Also on '53 plate polo fitted new filter and immediately through up the MIL light and ran like a dog.

Don't know if anyone else has experience this. We are a unipart car care centre and they assured us that they had solved the issue awhile back.

Remember don't overlook new components when diagnosing...

We are also a unipart car care centre and we have had two mercs with filter probs after service-one was a clk320 with only 20k only clock but 5 years old so we fitted all filters /plugs etc and car was ok on test drive but had starting trouble after and we traced that to a faulty fuel filter still waiting for an answer of Unipart!!
