Hi, got a Peugeot 206, 1.4 2004 KFU engine in at the moment.

Apparently it cuts out whilst driving slowly in traffic when hot, put your foot down and it cuts out.
No codes stored, I have taken it for a test drive and was unable to replicate the fault.
The car has been to Peugeot 4 times and to some other garages too, all unable to get to the bottom of it.
The owner mentioned reading online about the throttle body being a common issue and BBA list them in the common failures section. I am loathe to get too involved as I am going on holiday tomorrow so wondered if anyone has had any experience with this fault?

Thanks

HA

i had a fault on a 03 berlingo with the kfv engine, running weak no fault codes, throttle body had been changed by the previous workshop, tried everything, lots of suggestions from this forum but no avail, ended up as faulty injector harness, swapped one of a piccaso along with the injectors and hey ho, possibly nothing in common with your fault but thought it worth a mention, do a search on here for belingo running weak and you will see the issues.....

regards

Could be a faulty crankshaft sensor.
When the car stalls, can it be restarted immediately?

Yes it will re start straight away, I have had it die on me in the workshop twice now, I was watching MAP readings and absolute throttle position reading on a graph.
When I blipped the throttle, the MAP graph would go up and the throttle reading would go up, sometimes I would blip it and the MAP would rise but not the throttle reading, then if I put my foot hard down on the pedal it would die out.
My line of thought is that the ECU cant see that the throttle butterfly is open so it is not putting enough fuel in and the mixture goes too weak and the engine dies.......comments? or am I being a fool?

The owner is happy to leave it with me while I am away so I am sending the throttle body off to BBA for testing, its a start considering my time restraints.

Base fueling is done based on MAP readings and Inlet Air Temperature, not on the TPS.
The TPS may be used for calculating acceleration enrichment.

Have you checked fuel pressure and fuel flow?

What are your o2 readings??....

in my situation i had weak mixture,

so weak that i had high map readings, swapped the map sensor no different, which then you go down the leakage route etc....

when i finally changed the injectors and harness which cured the problem, map was perfect, my berlingo would sit and tick over fine then just stall, flick the key it restarted, no error codes, nothing, i changed crank sensor (flywheel) map sensor, coil pack, o2 sensor pre cat, compression checked, valve clearance, valve timing, all to no avail, the daft thing was that i suspected fuel supply all along but in the absence of a code you do the basics and it takes time, alot of time.... keep us posted..

Hi, I sent the throttle body to BBA while I was on holiday and it came back today.

BBA said they found a high resistance in the throttle motor, some damaged brushes and something else that the girl on the phone was unsure of....

I put it back on the car today and checked fault codes, I deleted what was listed and then started up, the MIL lamp came on and it will not rev up, I checked on my scanner to see if I could re set the TB's basic settings but I have no option for that, neither does my friends Solus.
Do these need to be adapted or are they self adapting? I checked the fault codes and came up with:

P1161 Throttle position. Agreement
P2100 Motorised throttle; Throttle control.

Any comments anyone?
Thanks
