good day people wonder if any one could help we have a mondeo coming in today that was repaired last week,it was recovered in as a non start sadly the fuel pump had died we replaced filter, pump(ford part),pipes, rail and injectors due to heavy contamination of swafe.
All injectors coded in correct order cam sensor was also replaced as was a fault that was stored in eecu
Customer says when crcruisingt around 50-60 mph engine feels like its holding back and judders slightly.
Going to start with a leak off test of injectors to see what's going on
any ideas much appreciated
Thank you Dave

just checking fuel rail pressure whilst running only have 3321 psi at idle but 12000-13577 when at 2000rpm. Engine runs lumpy at idle unable to fault the judder at 50-60mph

Have you checked actual vs desired fuel pressure when the fault is occuring?

Could be sucking air into fuel line somewhere or filter has picked up some swarf left in tank and caused a restriction.

Dave

Posting fuel pressure on common rail diesel is easier to understand in Bar (well is for me )

Injectors are they genuine ones, if not where did they come from ?

Just a thought I had a mondeo with same symptoms as yours and it turned out to be a small split in a turbo pipe

Hi.

Please do a 5 second cranking leak off test.
Disconnect injectors electrically, and the IMV. (Brown plug on the fuel pump).
Crank for 5 seconds.
I need to know the fuel pressure obtained, and the amount of fuel in the pipes in cms please.

Is it also the same with the EGR blanked off ??

Hello mate with plug off 170435+ psi a spit of fuel in leak off pipes not enough to register as didnt reach tubes
Have sent new injectors of to be tested as they change them under warranty until they have checked them themselves.
Engine is now running lumpy from cold after 5 mins runs pritty smooth, compared the pump pressure with a 54 plate tdci mondeo pump pressure is around the same all other readings match egr maf and map pressure =
