Vehicle dropped off today suffering from a real lack of power. The turbo seems like its not working, checked hoses etc seem ok. The vehicle stored a fault code of 235 turbo boost control circuit "a".  A new boost solenoid is £130 before I take the plunge has anyone had any dealings? Thanks very much

the vacuum pipe off the brake servo hose controlls the boost solenoid, check this with a mitty vac when started it should fly round to max, also check the boost hoses for splits, quick test is to rev hard and listen for a rush of air as if split hose.

we just replaced a vac pump because of no boost even though brakes were ok this was the problem.

also these bost valves are common for damage,ie snaped pipes.

if im right it is the same as i had the other day.

you could try reading info here

http://www.troublecodes.net/Ford/73tdi.shtml

i think boost control circuit a refers to the map sensor in the boost hose under the radiator, as i mentioned it throws up this code due to lack of vacuum to activate the actuator to allow boost so all the boost goes straight out the exhaust explaining why the sensor throws this code up.

hope this helps.
