Hi all

I still haven't got my head round these later diesels so any help would be appreciated.

Transit is an Xreg/2000my. It is cranking fine but will not fire, although it does try to go with a sniff of carb cleaner.

In engine/pats memory:

P1608 Watchdog malfunction (watchdog signal lost)

In pump memory:

P1608 (as above)

P1664 Fuel injection pump (malfunction - high Voltage)

P0216 Inj. timing control circuit (not returned after erased)

I'm the fourth one to look at this van after the AA, independent garage and a Diesel specialist who said it had something like 27 fault codes stored that could not be erased (I'm assuming wrong software used).

Regards, Ian.

id get the codes read with a good reader, reproograme it to the latest level and then more than likely go with the above pump/chain problem which is common

codes should not be cleared on a non start until they have been investigated.

ford diag will work you through each code to check em out.
