Hello All, We Have a peugeot 306 estate, X-reg 2000, manual 1.6 8V. Engine code TU5JP.

Fault Codes Are As Follows;

1608  Coolant temperature warning light

0300  Random/multiple cylinder misfires detected

0300  Same as above

0301  Cylinder 1 misfire detected

0302  Cylinder 2 misfire detected

0301  Cylinder 1 misfire detected

0302  Cylinder 2 misfire detected

0304  Cylinder 4 misfire detected

I've Cleared these fault but the only one that returns instantly is (1608 coolant temp warning light). i've checked the water level and all ok.  All the other codes will return after a day or two of driving the vehicle.

On vehicle live data the throttle position sensor is reading 0V. When you rev the engine, this reading doesn't change at all. If you unplug the throttle position sensor, it throws up a fault code like it should. Can't understand why the ecu is getting no reading but not putting up a fault code??

Upon revving the engine at 2500 rpm while checking the live data. The rev counter on the dash board dropped straight down to zero and stayed there. i pulled the resetting fuse out for the dash for 10 seconds and everything was fine again.

Personally we think it is a crank sensor fault. But this wouldn't explain the reappearing 1608 fault code.

Does anyone have any suggestions??   Thanks SteveBigGrin

Chris.

If you fit S/hand coil pack, make sure it,s bougicord or electrofil, and change the temp.sensor as Cyril says WinkWinkBigGrinBigGrin

Thanks all for your help, we borrowed a SH coil pack, the cars going like a trainSmile

Temp sender is on it's way.

Don't you think it's odd that the air bag light came at the same time as the management light, but now the coil pack is OK and the fault codes cleared the light has not come back on. I don't think it is just a coincidence as it did it when I was driving it. I saw it with my own eyes, honest.Crazy
