Hi Nick

There should be a live on one of the black/yellow wires at the triple pressure switch.

The only component between the a/con switch and the triple pressure switch is the evaporator temp. switch. Power comes into the evap. temp. switch on a black/white wire and, assuming there is no problem with it's operation, comes out on the black/yellow wire and then feeds the triple pressure switch.

I have replaced evap. switches before, not the easiest job. Rolleyes

Regards, Ian.

Got similar problem with an escort '00 zetec with a/c fuse keeps blowing. Might last a few minutes or so or blow straight away.

Measured clutch at 4 ohms.

Having trouble tracing the short.

Is there any chance from what you've seen at the evaporator sensor that it could possibly short around that area.

Cheers Iain

I don't think it's possible for the wiring to short near the evap. switch as the wiring is running through plastic conduit to the evap. area and then it can only really touch the plastic housing of the heater (but you never know w00t ).

Regards, Ian.

guys just thought i would let you know it is sorted, there is a de- icer switch located on the o/s of the heater box, this had gone down stopping live getting to the clutch. power goes through this switch, then the aircon relay and then the pressure switch. replaced the de-icer switch and now all ok. thanks for the replys, nick
