It idles & drives fine, but hesitates on acceleration in 2nd gear.

I've also noted a slight loss of Power, feels sluggish.

I've cleaned the MAP sensor (sprayed the wire sensor elements with Carb cleaner) but car still doing the same.

Could it be the EGR valve, if so how can I test/clean it.

There is no engine light to signal DTCs.

Any help appreciated.

Its this irritating hesitation/jerking at low speed which happens for just a couples of seconds when putting the foot on the gas.

Welcome to the Forum

I think you cleaned the MAF (mass air flow, Sensor) and not a MAP (manifold absolute pressure, Sensor). Try running with the MAF disconnected, this will log a fault code but  may point you to the MAF.

The problem was a sticking Exhaust Gas Recirculation Valve (EGR).

I removed it and gave it a good clean with carb cleaner, removing the carbon build up.

Fixed it back & its now running smooth, without any hesitation.
