HI all
we have a Peugeot 206 1.4 in, with intermittant idle problems. Occasionally the eml will come on for about 2 seconds, then the idle will stick at around 3000 rpm. It stays like that for a while, then returns to normal, or sometimes cuts out at idle altogether..
No codes stored, and temp sensor reading seems ok.
It has the magnetti marrelli Iaw 1ap.81 ecu, which is listed in the "common failures" section, but just wanted to throw this one open before splashing out £250 on a new ecu!
Thanks... Bill

Kev,
Thanks for the reply.
I'll try to get the data tomorrow, IF I can get it to do it... I drove it 70 miles with no probs,, customer gets 3 miles down the road and fault occurs!!!
Is there a certain temp range where these sensors give up?
I'll let you know how it goes
Bill

Had a few play up while warming up, i get a very good graph with the DEC on these and when they get to 40c ish suddenly jump to -30c then spike up and down ; Quiz the customer for more info.

I had one of these in yesterday, exact same symptoms except mine did have a fault code stored. ECT sensor voltage high.

Replaced the temp sensor which cured it.

Finally got it do do it, live data all ok, although the refresh rate on the heritage isn't that quick! Car idled at 3000 rpm, for about 5 mins of driving, then cut out at the lights, at which point all comms were lost. Started again ok with comms, then cut out after about 1 minute at normal idle, again losing comms.. Will check cable this morning Cyril.
