hello, i have an escort that when cold runs fine apart from a slight throttle delay, but after maybe 3 - 5 miles when hot the car will only run with the throttle only slightly depressed, any more than that, and the engine dies, so i have to creep home just above tick over, any ideas !

Start by having the codes read by a dealer or independent with the right equipment.
Then check all signals from the various sensors.

Check the fuel pressure, when hot, too.

hello, i have good fuel pressure, no problem with the ignition system, but i have found with using a noid lite that i am losing the injector pulse, i can keep my foot flat to the floor and the revs go up and down, eventually the engine cuts out, when i try to restart still with my foot flat to the floor there is no injector pulse until i let the throttle back up, then the engine starts and after a few seconds starts to play up again. these fault codes are in the memory of the vehicle p1401 and p1131 i dont think they are related?

Some engine management systems have a so-called "clear flood" mode.
This mode is entered when you floor the throttle pedal and then start the engine.

Oxygen sensor is reading lean all the time, maybe a leak in the exhaust manifold or a wiring problem or the sensor is defective.

what year is the car ?

Have the codes been cleared to see what returns ?

And just a thought have you tried disconnecting the MAF sensor ?
