Hi all, This is my wifes Mondeo.. I got a call today saying "a light which looks like a spring is flashing"!! Told her to drive it home, and i've had a look tonight. Code stored.. p2337 injector 2 above knock threshold. Code wouldn't clear, even though engine hadn't been re-started. Re-programmed all injectors with Modis, remembering injector 2= cyl3 etc, using the data from the label on the engine. Light still flashing and code still present. Took it for a drive, low on power and light still flashing, about 2 miles down the road, stopped and tried cycling the ignition a few times, only to have real difficulty getting it re-started. It did start after about 5 tries, and still runs the same. Is there an easy(ish) way to get the code from the injector body without removing it? any help welcome!

The calibration number on the injectors is easy to read, However that will not solve your problem.

You will need to carry out a leak off test, on all injectors, you will probably find you will need to replace an injector, but 99.9% of the time you will be replacing all four....

Thanks Darren, I'm taking it to work tomorrow, so will be doing a leak test then, if i get the time! If it wants 4 injectors, it'll probably be scrap! Sad

Good stuff. Once you have installed it, do another leak off test then watch the leak off be more than your new injector..........

Been thinking Smile any ideas why the code won't clear after programming, is it just the poor comms from modis? or could the injector have a more terminal electrical fault which is causing the code? but then again, wouldn't that give an open circuit fault?

Well, replaced Cyl. 3 injector with a genuine (reconditioned??) Delphi supplied by fuelparts, trouble was, the ecu wouldn't accept the code. Thinking this might be another modis Vs ford problem, took it to a local independant with Ford IDS, he couldn't code it either.. rang fuelparts,, guy told me to ignore the code that's on the label.. "try this crack-code instead", and this code did indeed work fine, car now runs fine and no flashing glow-light! Smile Rang the supplier and had a good rant.. "how the **&** can you sell a £200 injector with the wrong code on it, and not even put a label in the box saying it may be wrong??"" Lesson learned... Genuine ford for the next one!

Fool Parts!!

How can you have a generic correction factor?

The whole point of the number on the injector is to tell the ECU how to overcome that particular injector's deviation from the norm.

there are good companies in the uk that do reman fuel parts to oe spec, they have the very very expensive equipment to test the likes of delphi injectors then print and attach a new correction label, used many never a problem !!!. pm me if you require contact details.
