The car wont start ultimately, 2002 mondeo 130bhp. I have had a set of recon injectors, new cam sensor, fuel filter and a new FRP sensor has been fitted prior to me purchasing the vehicle. I have had IDS on the vehicle with gives a cranking pressure reading of 19.5MPa (195 bar) which is quite low.
I know the pumps can be at fault, as well os the pressure reg on the back of the pump. What is the easiest way to diagnose this?
I have tried easy start and will still not start but does begin to fire with a lot of knocking.

dlWelcome to the forum. How did the original problem occur and how did you end up with it? That pressure doesn't seem terribly low for cranking - do you have engine rev data showing at the same time?

Shows 300 - 400 rpm, white smoke can be seen from exhaust also. New cam sensor so I may just fit a new crank sensor and see?

dlI wouldn't go on chucking parts at it without narrowing down the cause first. The fault history?

In regards to DTC's, none as current/historyI bought the vehicle as a non-runner so I cannot give the vehicle conditions when it stopped starting

DarkloreAs above scope the cam and crank sensors for synch, chain slipped and or cam carrier caps broken. Could be an expensive non start buy. Kev.

can we assume you have checked the typical ie egr valve stuck open ?, turbo rotates free ?, petrol in diesel tank ?. the cranking rail pressure appears slightly high can u scope the injectors to see if they are being triggered by the ecu.

have you compression tested it ?whats the mileage(mind you might not be correct)
no codes and smoke out of exhaust ,you need to find out if ur wasting you time on a worn out engine
?

I have removed all injectors and placed them in a glass with make shift pipes and all are squirting diesel. I have smelt the tank and it does smell slightly ominous with petrol, any test I can do with a sample to find out if its a mix?Mileage is 120,000 How do I check that the EGR is stuck open? Compression test to be done soon.
